MY FIRST IMOVIE TRAILER: EXPLORING EUROPE
iMovie Trailer:
This week I used the information I learned getting my iMovie Badge, and made my first iMovie trailer called Exploring Europe. I honestly was not very excited about tackling this task because I thought it would be time consuming and hard, but it ended up being super easy and fun to complete! My experience with iMovie was great because it was very user friendly. You simply chose a template and then fill everything in to make it your own. I chose the “coming of age” template because I liked the music, and I thought it was fitting for my trailer project. After that I simply uploaded my pictures, added captions, and then edited it to make it visually appealing. I am not very great at technology, so iMovie is definitely user friendly for anybody who wants to complete a cool and unique project for his or her classroom.
Topic Choice:
I chose to do my project over exploring Europe because I thought it could be something fun I could incorporate in my Social Studies classroom. This could be shown to students if we are learning about Europe to get them excited about all of the cool places. It could also be shown to students who are thinking about traveling to Europe with their Foreign Language class or study abroad because that is how I got to experience traveling there. It could be a way to get them to consider traveling abroad with their school because it is an experience of a lifetime. Last, it could be an example of a project idea that could be used in geography. If I wanted to have the students to research a place they have vacationed, or somewhere that they would like to travel to, I could have them create a project similar to mine. This could be a fun way for students to study other countries, and share what they learned with the classroom.
My Take Away:
I had a lot of fun creating this project, and have learned that it is an easy way to share information with students. I also think that using this app would be a good way to document personal experiences for you to look back on or share with friends and family. I highly recommend downloading the iMovie app and to start creating your own projects. So go download it today!
